The anticipation was building; it was finally time to go to our first brewery. The boys (I forgot to mention that we take our children with us), were so excited to get a Root beer and I could hardly wait to uncover my new favorite Vermont Beer. So we picked a really hot and humid day and headed out with our GPS. First stop, Harpoon Brewery in Windsor.
Harpoon Brewery is right next to an ice cream stand (score for the boys). They enjoyed an ice cream cone while the moms enjoyed a Beer. Harpoon Summer was a hit, rated a 9 overall. After finishing our gigantic glasses of beer, we headed to Long Trail Brewery in Bridgewater.
Long Trail didn't look quite as cute as Harpoon, so we rated Harpoon with a higher presentation than Long Trail. The boys were hungry (again)so we ordered food with our beer. I was still full from my Harpoon Summer but ordered a Blackberry Wheat. Didn't like it as much as Harpoon - rated 8 overall. We gave ourselves a tour. Isaac got sick from the smell. At this point in our travels, the boys can describe in depth the ingredients and most of the process involved in micro-brewing. What a great summer education!
